Gisborne Sights and Activities

There are many fabulous things to see and experience in Gisborne; amazing views and scenery, some of which can be seen directly from the Easternstar Hide-a-way Cottage. Great swimming-friendly beaches are but minutes from the City center. The beautiful Rere Falls and Morere Hot Springs are perfect places to spend an afternoon.

Sightseeing tours are available; from helicopter to horse to boat, there are tours to suit your interests. Visit the wineries for tastings, peruse the work of local Artists and experience the rich Gisborne history at the Tairawhiti Museum and Art Gallery, or take a walk through the magestic Eastwoodhill Arboretum, the National Arboretum of New Zealand.

Fishing in the bay, Hunting and Tramping, Horse-treks along the coast; or if you would like to relax, try the HB Williams Memorial Library, the beautiful Botanical Gardens or just sit down with a nice coffee at one of the many Cafés.
